Inrichting
Het is een klein restaurant, maar leuk ingericht. Ze hebben tafeltjes bij de ramen, een hoge lange tafel ertegenover en een bar met veel wijnflessen daarboven. Ze hebben hierdoor goed gebruik gemaakt om het ondanks de kleine ruimte heel open over te laten komen. Aan de bar is de wachtrij, zodat je voor het eten alvast iets kan drinken.
Voorgerecht
Ik koos voor de scheermessen met witte wijnsaus, knoflook en peterselie. Dit was de eerste keer scheermessen voor mij en ik vond ze lekker. Ik kreeg er brood met olijfolie bij, zodat ik de saus kon opdeppen. Daarbij was een vochtig doekje klaargelegd, zodat ik erna schone handen kon krijgen.
Hoofdgerecht
Risotto met zeevruchten, waarvan ik beiden erg lekker vind. Het is onder andere met gamba's, mosselen en kreeftensaus klaargemaakt. Er zat zelfs inktvis door de risotto heen, wat het nog lekkerder maakte. Er werd patat met huisgemaakte saus bij geserveerd. De mosselen vond ik het minst lekkerste aan het gerecht.
Nagerecht
Dit is de enige dagspecial die ik gekozen heb. Namelijk de pistache, framboos en witte chocolade. Klaargemaakt met ganache van pistache, frambozengel, olijfoliecake en espuma van witte chocolade. Ik vond het lekker.
Drinken
Ze hebben een uitgebreide wijnkaart, met verschillende landen herkomst. Daarnaast serveren ze een aantal cocktails en frisdranken. Zelf koos ik voor een Fever-Tree Sicilian Lemonade en een Negroni. Beiden waren goed. Er wordt daarnaast ook aangeboden om tafelwater neer te zetten, dit heb ik zelf niet gedaan.
Service
Er loopt in de kleine ruimte meer dan genoeg mensen rond, die contact met iedereen maken en hun rondes doen. Je ziet ook dat ze mensen die vaker komen extra aandacht geven als teken van erkenning. Bij binnenkomst krijg je een bakje nootjes. Mij is verteld dat het grootste deel de lokale bevolking is, zodat dit deels een plek is waar men elkaar regelmatig zal zien.
Conclusie
Er zijn dus heel veel tekenen van een goede service. Ik zou het dan ook zeker aanraden om hierheen te gaan. Het zijn heerlijke gerechten, goede prijzen en aanspreekbaar personeel. De focus ligt op de lokale bevolking, waardoor het minder toeristisch aanvoelt dan de restaurants midden in het centrum.
Interior
It is a small restaurant, but nicely decorated. They have tables by the windows, a high long table opposite, and a bar with many wine bottles above it. They have made good use of this to make it feel very open despite the small space. There is a queue at the bar, so you can have a drink before your meal.
Starter
I chose the razor clams with white wine sauce, garlic, and parsley. This was my first time having razor clams and I liked them. I was served bread with olive oil so I could soak up the sauce. A damp cloth was also laid out so I could get clean hands afterwards.
Main Course
Seafood risotto, both of which I really like. It is prepared with prawns, mussels, and lobster sauce, among other things. There was even squid mixed into the risotto, which made it even tastier. Fries with homemade sauce were served alongside. I found the mussels to be the least tasty part of the dish.
Dessert
This is the only daily special I chose. Namely, the pistachio, raspberry, and white chocolate. Prepared with pistachio ganache, raspberry gel, olive oil cake, and white chocolate espuma. I liked it.
Drinks
They have an extensive wine list with wines from various countries of origin. Additionally, they serve a number of cocktails and soft drinks. I chose a Fever-Tree Sicilian Lemonade and a Negroni. Both were good. They also offer to provide table water, though I didn't do that myself.
Service
There are more than enough people walking around in the small space, making contact with everyone and doing their rounds. You can also see that they give extra attention to regular customers as a sign of appreciation. Upon entry, you receive a small bowl of nuts. I was told that the majority are locals, so this is partly a place where people will see each other regularly.
Conclusion
So, there are many signs of good service. I would definitely recommend going here. The dishes are delicious, the prices are good, and the staff is approachable. The focus is on the local population, making it feel less touristy than the restaurants right in the city center.
