Bohemian Bloom
Locatie is makkelijk te bereiken, het bevindt zich zelfs dichtbij de parkeergarage Kalverenstraat. Supper bestaat naast het restaurant ook uit een club en een hotel. Bij binnenkomst krijg je een nummer op welke plek je neergezet wordt. Boven wordt je ontvangen door een van de artiesten en wordt je door een medewerker begeleidt naar je plek.
Ovale ruimte met plaatsen
Het eerste wat mij opvalt is hoe klein de tafeltjes zijn, aangezien je blijkbaar met zijn tweeën van hetzelfde tafeltje moet eten. Het zou handiger zijn als je een eigen tafel had, die je naar eigen wens naar je toe kan trekken wanneer je eronder zit. Het tweede wat mij meteen opgevallen is, is hoe krap alle tafeltjes naast elkaar gezet zijn. Wanneer je met een groep naast elkaar zit, dan zal je dit niet zo erg vinden. Wanneer je echter naast vreemden moet zitten en erg gesteld bent op je persoonlijke ruimte, dan zal dit al snel ongemakkelijk voelen.
Formitable
Je betaalt vooraf voor de locatie waar je wil eten, waarvan de bedden waarschijnlijk het populairst zullen zijn. Daarnaast heb je ook een optie uit gewone tafeltjes. Wanneer je geïnstalleerd bent krijg je de drankkaart en mag je kijken welk menu je wil hebben. Het is fijn om te weten dat je een kan met water kan bestellen en dat er ook een mocktail besteld kan worden. Het is jammer dat deze niet duidelijk op de kaart aangegeven wordt, zeker de mocktail zou een goede toevoeging zijn voor mensen die nog moeten rijden.
Keuzes en mogelijkheden genoeg
Er zijn drie verschillende menu's waar je uit kan kiezen, waarbij je kan beginnen met een viergangenmenu en dit twee maal uit kan breiden met een extra tussendoortje. Daarnaast zijn er kleine gerechtjes en zelfs kaviaar als speciaal gerechtje. Bij binnenkomst krijg je een amuse, zodat alle groepen de tijd hebben om binnen te komen en zich te installeren. Daarnaast bestaat het menu uit een starter die iedereen heeft, een tweede gerecht en hoofdgerecht met drie keuzes, een tussengerecht met twee keuzes indien van toepassing en een toetje met twee keuzes. Je kan bij het hoofdgerecht ook bijgerechten krijgen.
Het is niet eenvoudig
De opbouw van de verschillende prijzen voor de menu's begrijp ik niet helemaal, het eerste gerechtje kost namelijk vijf euro extra en het tweede extra gerechtje ineens zes euro. De prijs voor het bijgerecht is echt te duur, 8 euro voor een bakje patat met truffelmayonaise en Parmezaanse kaas. Ook is het apart dat een aantal van de kleine gerechtjes die je extra als vooraf kan bestellen per drie gaat. De meeste mensen zullen per twee of vier personen komen. De logica hiervoor ontgaat mij.
Afrodisiacum
Zelf koos ik als cocktail voor de Dancing with the Devil, hij klonk leuk en had hem nog nooit eerder op. Hij bestaat uit tequila, crème van cassis, gember en verse limoen. Ik hou van cassis en limoen en ben heel blij dat ik de gember zo goed als niet mee heb gekregen. Ik wilde heel graag een aantal kleine gerechtjes proberen, dus koos ik voor de oesters met komkommer en foam van vlierbloesem. Daarnaast nam ik ook arancini om te proberen, dit zijn rijstballetjes met truffel en panko. De kleine gerechtjes waren beiden enorm lekker, waarbij ik de combinatie van deze oester heel verfrissend vond. Vanwege de goede smaak en de prijs zal ik de oesters zeker aanraden.
Kwaliteit was op tafel
Als menu had ik de zalmfilet met frisse groenten, deze was ontzettend lekker en de zalm had een goede smaak. Als tweede gang koos ik voor het visgerechtje en dat was een Sint-Jakobsschelp, deze was ook lekker. Als hoofdgerecht had ik kabeljauwfillet. Als tussendoor had ik de scroppino, maar mocht ik ook het kaasplankje proberen. Het was lekker en veel verschillende soorten kaas. Ik kan het ook begrijpen als je deze ronde niet bijzonder genoeg vindt om mee te nemen. Tijdens een van de optredens kregen we een shotje. Als toetje had ik de Pornstar Cheesecake met witte chocolade en passievrucht. Het menu wordt elk seizoen veranderd.
Gevarieerde draaitafel
Tussen elke gerecht is een optreden, van verschillende artiesten en een variatie in soorten acts. De openingsact was paaldansen door Anna Liisa. De tweede act was zingen door Paul, die later ook een ander nummer deed. De derde act was Pauliin, die eerst haar slangenkunsten liet zien in een hoepel (arial) en later letterlijk als slang nogmaals terug kwam. Er was ook een vrouwelijke zangeres, Tally. De DJ is er de hele avond en bij ons was dit Roelove.
Optreden bij Supper
Helaas vond ik niet alle acts even goed. De twee acts die ik het beste vond traden beiden een extra keer op. Het interessante is dat mij verteld is dat Supper elke avond andere acts heeft. Dit doen ze bewust, omdat ze samenwerken met meerdere artiesten. Op deze manier krijgen meerdere mensen de kans om hun kunsten te laten zien. Het is dan vast voor artiesten te proberen om Supper te benaderen voor een samenwerking.
Into the Groove
Ik vond het mooi dat er aan de achterkant grote schermen waren waar dingen op geprojecteerd konden worden. Het thema Bohemian Bloom, zoals ook aan de ingang stond, was daar goed te zien. Het muziek dat gedraaid werd vond ik ook goed passen. Ik vind het persoonlijk goede muziek en remixen, maar past ook goed bij de sfeer die de locatie geeft. Het licht zal af en toe wel wat beter afgestemd mogen worden, soms vond ik het te donker of juist te fel om de act te zien.
Conclusie
Meestal is het bij dinershows zo dat je vooral betaald voor de acts. Vaak is het eten dan minder goed. Wanneer de show goed genoeg is, dan vind je het geld waard geweest. Echter was het hier eerder andersom, ik vond het eten beter dan de acts. Het eten was absoluut lekker en fijn dat het afgewikkeld wordt met de acts. Jammer dat niet alle acts hetzelfde niveau hebben. Wanneer ze aangeven met veel artiesten samen te werken, zouden ze daar makkelijk betere keuzes in kunnen maken. Op basis van deze avond hoop ik voor anderen dat zij Paul en Pauliin als artiesten krijgen.
Mijn aanraden
Aangezien het eten hier goed is, zal ik enkel hierheen gaan als je een keer iets anders zoekt. Een keer op een bed slapen is namelijk wel leuk voor de verandering. De netheid zou echter wel iets beter mogen, toiletpapier was begin van de avond niet aangevuld. Ook waren er problemen bij de tafel naast mij bij de afrekening. Er kwam ook een stel een uur te laat binnen, begon gelijk te klagen over allerlei dingen en daar werd in mijn ogen te makkelijk mee om gegaan. Het is jammer dat deze mensen tussen de andere bezoekers gewurmd moesten worden, in plaats van boven geplaatst waar niemand zat.
Iets te hip
Ook wil ik als extra notitie vermelden dat ik heel blij ben dat er één medewerker aanwezig was die Nederlands sprak. Hierdoor konden de mensen die niet goed Engels kunnen spreken ook geholpen worden. Ik begrijp dat dit in de hoofdstad is en er waarschijnlijk veel Engels sprekende personen zullen zijn. Echter kan je niet verwachten dat iedereen deze taal goed kan spreken en is het teleurstellend dat je niet eens om water kan vragen in je eigen taal.

Bohemian Bloom
The location is easy to reach, even close to the Kalverenstraat parking garage. Besides the restaurant, Supper also houses a club and a hotel. Upon entering, you'll be given a number and seated. Upstairs, you'll be greeted by one of the artists and a staff member will escort you to your seat.
Oval space with seating
The first thing I noticed was how small the tables are, since apparently, two people have to share a table. It would be more convenient if you had your own table, which you could pull up to your liking when sitting underneath. The second thing I immediately noticed was how close all the tables are placed together. If you're sitting next to each other in a group, you won't mind. However, if you have to sit next to strangers and are very concerned about your personal space, it can quickly feel awkward.
Formitable
You pay in advance for the location where you want to eat, with the beds likely being the most popular. You also have the option of regular tables. Once you're settled in, you'll receive the drinks menu and can choose which menu you'd like. It's nice to know you can order a pitcher of water and a mocktail. It's a shame these aren't clearly indicated on the menu; the mocktail would be a great addition for those who still have to drive.
Plenty of choices and options
There are three different menus to choose from. You can start with a four-course meal and expand this twice with an extra snack. There are also small dishes and even caviar as a special dish. Upon arrival, you'll receive an amuse-bouche, giving all groups time to settle in and settle in. The menu also includes a starter for everyone, a second course and main course with three choices, an intermediate course with two choices if applicable, and a dessert with two choices. You can also get side dishes with the main course.
It's not easy
I don't quite understand the pricing structure for the menus. The first dish costs five euros extra, and the second extra dish suddenly costs six euros. The price for the side dish is really too expensive: 8 euros for a portion of fries with truffle mayonnaise and Parmesan cheese. It's also odd that some of the small dishes you can order as an appetizer are sold in sets of three. Most people will come in sets of two or four. The logic behind this escapes me.
Aphrodisiac
I chose the Dancing with the Devil cocktail; it sounded nice, and I'd never had it before. It consists of tequila, crème de cassis, ginger, and fresh lime. I love cassis and lime, and I'm very glad I barely got any ginger. I really wanted to try a few small dishes, so I chose the oysters with cucumber and elderflower foam. I also tried arancini, which are rice balls with truffle and panko. Both small dishes were incredibly delicious, and I found the combination of these oysters very refreshing. Because of the good taste and the price, I would definitely recommend the oysters.
Quality was on the table
For the menu, I had the salmon fillet with fresh vegetables; it was incredibly delicious, and the salmon had a good flavor. For my second course, I chose the fish dish, which was a scallop, which was also delicious. For the main course, I had cod fillet. As a snack, I had the scroppino, but I also got to try the cheese board. It was delicious and had a wide variety of cheeses. I can understand if you don't find this round special enough to take home. During one of the performances, we were given a shot. For dessert, I had the Pornstar Cheesecake with white chocolate and passion fruit. The menu changes seasonally.
Varied DJ set
Between each course, there's a performance by different artists and a variety of acts. The opening act was pole dancing by Anna Liisa. The second act was singing by Paul, who later performed another song. The third act was Pauliin, who first showed off her snake skills in a hoop (arial) and later literally returned as a snake. There was also a female singer, Tally. The DJ is there all evening, and in our case, it was Roelove.
Performance at Supper
Unfortunately, I didn't think all the acts were equally good. The two acts I liked best both performed a second time. Interestingly, I was told that Supper has different acts every night. They do this deliberately, because they collaborate with multiple artists. This way, several people get the chance to showcase their skills. It's probably a good idea for artists to approach Supper for a collaboration.
Into the Groove
I liked the large screens at the back where things could be projected. The Bohemian Bloom theme, as displayed at the entrance, was clearly visible there. I also thought the music they played was a good fit. Personally, I think the music and remixes are good, but they also fit the atmosphere of the venue. The lighting could be adjusted a bit better at times; sometimes I found it too dark or too bright to see the act.
Conclusion
Usually with dinner shows, you mainly pay for the acts. Often, the food isn't as good. If the show is good enough, you'll consider it worth the money. However, here it was the other way around; I thought the food was better than the acts. The food was absolutely delicious, and it was nice that it was complemented by the acts. It's a shame that not all the acts are of the same caliber. If they say they work with many artists, they could easily make better choices. Based on this evening, I hope others will get Paul and Pauliin as their performers.
My recommendation
Since the food here is good, I would only go here if you're looking for something different. Sleeping on a bed is nice for a change. However, the cleanliness could be a bit better; toilet paper wasn't replenished early in the evening. There were also problems at the table next to me with the bill. A couple arrived an hour late and immediately started complaining about all sorts of things, which, in my opinion, was handled too casually. It's a shame these people had to be squeezed in among the other guests instead of being placed upstairs where no one was seated.
A bit too hip
I also want to add that I'm very happy that there was one staff member present who spoke Dutch. This allowed people who don't speak English well to be helped. I understand that this is in the capital and there will likely be many English speakers. However, you cannot expect everyone to be able to speak this language well and it is disappointing that you cannot even ask for water in your own language.
