Even voorstellen
Leuk en gezellig klein eettentje in het centrum van Culemborg. Tim & Odette zijn de eigenaren. Tim heb ik helaas nog niet echt gesproken. Odette zegt regelmatig "good vibes", maar ze ís ook echt 'good vibes'. Daarnaast hebben ze leuke dames in dienst. Samen zijn ze een fijn en benaderbaar team met aanstekelijke en toch gepaste vrolijkheid.
Sfeervol binnenkomen
De inrichting is kleurrijk, van alles en veel. Toch is het op de een of andere manier kloppend. Het is een goede match bij wat ze uit willen stralen en hoe de eigenaren zelf overkomen. Dit zie je ook terugkomen in hoe ze alles serveren en ook de combinaties van ingrediënten.
High Wine
Ik zag dat ze een High Wine hadden en die wilde ik wel proberen. Het bestaat uit drie rondes, van een wijntje met een hapje. De eerste ronde was een witte wijn met Tartalette van Odette, rode uien chutney met feta citroencrème, aardbei-muntgelei, balsamicoparels en basilicumolie. De tweede ronde was rosé wijn met gefrituurde bloemkool op een macaroniwafel. De derde ronde was een rode wijn met een vijg in portstroop met pure chocolade en roquefort.
Conclusie High Wine
Ik vond mijn eerste gerechtje het lekkerste. Het zag er prachtig uit, kleuren spraken aan en de smaak paste er perfect bij. Mij werd verteld dat de wijn om de hoek komt waar ook reclame voor werd gemaakt wanneer je het thuis ook zou willen drinken. Odette vertelde bij elke wijn een heel verhaal, waardoor je kan merken dat ze zich echt heeft ingelezen over wat ze inschenkt. De gerechtjes worden ter plekke bedacht qua keuzes, waarbij ik verwacht dat het bij iedereen anders zal zijn. Toch wordt er elke ronde verteld, waarom de wijn en het gerecht goed bij elkaar passen. De eerste ronde was mijn favoriete gerecht, heel veel ingrediënten die ik erg lekker vind.
DIXXO
De eerste editie van hun eigen disco. Thema was dit keer 1986 en was ter ere van de verjaardag van Odette. Vooraf moest je een ticket kopen. Je mocht twee nummers toevoegen aan de speellijst. Bij binnenkomst kreeg je een cocktail (ik koos de strawberry mojito). Er hing een leuke sfeer. Mensen dansten en zongen grotendeels leuk mee.
Vernieuwend
Ik had een gesprek met Odette. Ze vertelde dat ze altijd bezig is met nieuwe dingen blijven bedenken. Het is dus zeker de moeite waard om hen in de gaten te houden. Hun Instagram is ook leuk om te volgen.
Op het menu
Ik wil hier later nog eens teruggaan om hun menu te proberen. Wordt dus nog vervolgd.
Je kan hier terecht voor ontbijt, lunch en diner. Daarnaast is er ook de mogelijkheid voor een high tea, high wine of high cocktail.
Conclusie
Ik vind het een hele leuke, kleine en unieke locatie. De persoonlijke twist is ook overal terug te vinden. Ik ben voor nu vooral heel benieuwd naar wat ze nog meer te bieden hebben. Bijvoorbeeld de bekende wafels op het menu, of de tapasmaanden in de zomer buiten.

A nice and cozy little eatery in the center of Culemborg. Tim & Odette are the owners. Unfortunately, I haven't actually spoken to Tim yet. Odette often says "good vibes," but she really is "good vibes." They also have lovely women working for them. Together they make a pleasant and approachable team with an infectious yet appropriate cheerfulness.
Entertaining atmosphere
The decor is colorful, with a lot of everything. Yet, it somehow feels right. It's a good match for the image they want to project and how the owners themselves come across. This is also reflected in how they serve everything and also the combinations of ingredients.
High Wine
I saw they had a High Wine, and I wanted to try it. It consists of three rounds, each with a glass of wine and a snack. The first round was a white wine with Odette's Tartalette, red onion chutney with feta and lemon cream, strawberry-mint jelly, balsamic pearls, and basil oil. The second round was a rosé wine with fried cauliflower on a macaroni waffle. The third round was a red wine with a fig in port syrup, dark chocolate, and Roquefort.
High Wine Conclusion
I thought my first dish was the best. It looked beautiful, the colors were appealing, and the flavors complemented it perfectly. I was told that the wine, which was also advertised, would be available around the corner if you'd like to try it at home. Odette told a detailed story about each wine, which showed she'd really researched what she was serving. The dishes were created on the spot, and I expect it to be different for everyone. Yet, each round is explained why the wine and dish pair well together. The first round was my favorite dish, with lots of ingredients I really enjoy.
DIXXO
The first edition of their own disco. The theme this time was 1986 and was in honor of Odette's birthday. You had to buy a ticket in advance. You could add two songs to the playlist. Upon arrival, you received a cocktail (I chose the strawberry mojito). There was a great atmosphere. People were dancing and singing along for the most part.
Innovative
I spoke with Odette. She told me she's always working on new things. So it's definitely worth keeping an eye on them. Their Instagram is also fun to follow.
On the menu
I want to go back later to try their menu. To be continued.

Conclusion
I think it's a really nice, small, and unique location. The personal touch is evident everywhere. For now, I'm especially curious about what else they have to offer. For example, the well-known waffles on the menu, or the tapas months outside in the summer.
