Reden komst
Normaal zou ik een plek als dit niet uitkiezen om iets te eten. Ik ging alleen hierna naar het Theater van Doetinchem (het Amphion) en je kreeg dan hier korting met eten. Ik vind het mooi dat ze zo'n combinatie bedenken en het trekt dan ook mensen het centrum in.
Eten
Als voorgerecht had ik de carpaccio, waar helaas een haar in zat die overduidelijk niet van mij was. Verder was hij moeilijk te snijden. Als hoofdgerecht nam ik de gebakken schnitzel met champignonsaus. Fijn dat je keuze hebt uit welke saus je erbij wil en dat dit in een apart bakje erbij gedaan wordt. Ook wordt het geserveerd met gebakken aardappels, patat en een salade. De gebakken aardappels vond ik erg lekker. Als nagerecht had ik de witte chocolade cheesecake met passievrucht, die echt ontzettend lekker was! Wel wil ik aangeven dat wij het voor- en nagerecht wilden delen en dat was geen enkel probleem, er werden extra bordjes en bestek gegeven.
Conclusie
Ondanks dat het donderdagavond was, was het erg druk en hierdoor enorm luidruchtig. Je zag dat er meerdere grote groepen waren, die samenkwamen voor gezelligheid. Ik zal deze ook enkel aanraden wanneer je zelf met een grotere groep bent en gewoon ergens gezellig wil zitten. Wanneer je naar deze drukke plek gaat, bestel dan vooral de witte chocolade cheesecake.
Reason for coming
Normally, I wouldn't choose a place like this for a meal. I only went to the Doetinchem Theater (the Amphion) afterward, and they offered a discount with food. I think it's great that they've come up with such a combination, and it really draws people into the city center.
Food
For my starter, I had the carpaccio, which unfortunately had a hair in it that clearly wasn't mine. It was also difficult to cut. For my main course, I had the fried schnitzel with mushroom sauce. It's great that you can choose which sauce you want with it, and that it's served in a separate container. It's also served with fried potatoes, fries, and a salad. I really enjoyed the fried potatoes. For dessert, I had the white chocolate cheesecake with passion fruit, which was absolutely delicious! I do want to mention that we wanted to share the starter and dessert, and that was no problem at all; extra plates and cutlery were provided.
Conclusion
Despite it being a Thursday evening, it was very busy and therefore incredibly noisy. You could see several large groups gathering for a good time. I'd only recommend this if you're with a larger group and just want a cozy place to sit. If you go to this bustling spot, definitely order the white chocolate cheesecake.
